  Douglas ad shocks
Letter to the Editor of the Free Press; Sunday, November 5, 2006.

Burlington – I was shocked, disappointed, and disgusted by the new Gov. Jim Douglas' ad for re-election. This most recent ad campaign is completely inappropriate and has disgusting timing.

  Parker motivates us
Letter to the Editor of the Free Press; Sunday, November 5, 2006.

Bristol – I am very excited about Scudder Parker's candidacy for governor. In all of the 38 years that I have been old enough to vote I have never been as motivated by any other candidate for any office as I am for Scudder Parker in this race! With his leadership abilities, vision, and commitment, we will all benefit substantially with Scudder as our governor.

  Parker has insight
Letter to the Editor of the Free Press; Sunday, November 5, 2006.

Burlington – I'm supporting Scudder Parker for governor. Let me tell you why. We need a governor with vision, wisdom and insight who can bring people together. We don't need a procrastinator, ribbon-cutter, yes-man, divider and foot-dragger like our current governor.

  Parker is principled
Letter to the Editor of the Free Press; Sunday, November 5, 2006.

Hinesburg – Scudder Parker is a man of integrity. He's smart, thoughtful and principled. As Vermont's next governor, Scudder won't be just another ribbon-cutting ceremonial functionary.

  Parker speaks trush
Letter to the Editor of the Free Press; Sunday, November 5, 2006.

Burlington – I need to share with you why I vote for Scudder Parker for our next governor of Vermont. Though I think I am a liberal-leaning, independent voter, I find some of my heroes in the Republican party from time to time like the late Sen. Art Gibbs, Gov. Dick Snelling and our beloved Jim Jeffords to name a few.

  Save our snow
Letter to the Editor of the Free Press; Sunday, November 5, 2006.

Duxbury – If you really care about your children's future and their children's please vote for Scudder Parker. He has the practical knowledge, leadership and will to see Vermont through the tough times ahead. Douglas does not.

  Parker gets job done
Letter to the Editor of the Free Press; Sunday, November 5, 2006.

Montpelier – If you think Gov. Jim Douglas, unlike Sen. Jim Jeffords, was a bit slow in noticing the rampant corruption in the Bush administration, consider voting for Scudder Parker for governor.

  Parker for tough issues
Letter to the Editor of the Free Press; Sunday, November 5, 2006.

Craftsbury Common – Gov. Jim Douglas' "tough-guy" 4 percent cap on school budgets allows him to play the role as "protector" of taxpayers. It's great political rhetoric.

  Parker leads by example
Letter to the Editor of the Times Argus; Saturday, November 4, 2006.

Williston – As a Vermont state representative I have worked under the pall of our sitting governor. Simultaneously, I have worked in the aura of Scudder Parker.

  Time for change
Letter to the Editor of the Free Press; Saturday, November 4, 2006.

Burlington – I am so pleased this year to be able to vote for a great group of candidates including Bernie Sanders, Peter Welch, Scudder Parker and Matt Dunne.

  Vote for Democrats
Letter to the Editor of the Free Press; Saturday, November 4, 2006.

Colchester – It is said that the Democratic Party is the party of the people.

  Can't afford Republicans
Letter to the Editor of the Free Press; Saturday, November 4, 2006.

Charlotte – A bumper sticker in Colchester sums up the central issue for 98 percent of Vermont families: "I'm too poor to vote Republican."

  No to Republicans
Letter to the Editor of the Free Press; Saturday, November 4, 2006.

Colchester – Republicans want: tax relief for the wealthy, minimum wages that do not support a family, laws that are anti-environmental, minimum renewable energy, huge subsidies to the oil, gas, coal and nuclear industries and health care for some but not for all.

Douglas' judgement isn't to be trusted
Letter to the Editor of the Times Argus; Saturday, November 4, 2006.

North Montpelier – Pitting dairy farmers against organic farmers by vetoing the GMO liability bill or lining up loggers and ATVers against hikers and hunters by scuttling the wilderness bill reveals a divisiveness and lack of deft legislative skills that have plagued the Douglas administration for four years.

  Douglas slow on energy issues
Letter to the Editor of the Rutland Herald; Saturday, November 4, 2006.

Putney – Gov. Douglas says that Vermont's energy and environmental future is in good hands with him and his administration. I beg to differ.

  Parker has passion
Letter to the Editor of the Free Press; Friday, November 3, 2006.

Hinesburg – He has the passion and the nerve to actually do something. For him the office of governor is not just another step in a prescribed political career. For him the office is a vehicle for positive change.

  Parker listens
Letter to the Editor of the Free Press; Friday, November 3, 2006.

St Johnsbury – Here's a question for all Vermont voters. Name one substantial thing Gov. Jim Douglas has accomplished in his four years in office? Still thinking? Health care? Energy? Education? Environmental issues? It has all been a no show.

  Scudder has vision
Letter to the Editor of the Free Press; Friday, November 3, 2006.

Montpelier – Two questions: Why am I voting for Scudder Parker? Why am I urging all my fellow Vermonters to do the same?

  Douglas has poor record
Letter to the Editor of the Free Press; Friday, November 3, 2006.

Burlington – Let's review Gov. Jim Douglas' environmental record.

  Parker knows issues
Letter to the Editor of the Free Press; Thursday, November 2, 2006.

Hinesburg – During the gubernatorial debate at the Renewable Energy Conference Gov. Jim Douglas admitted he has never seen "An Inconvenient Truth." Are you kidding me? Doesn't he want to learn more about it?

  Parker has vision
Letter to the Editor of the Free Press; Thursday, November 2, 2006.

Rochester – I have come to know Scudder professionally and have immense respect for his drive, intelligence, and vision. By my direct observation and experience, Scudder takes his vision and consults with those with expertise and those with a stake in the matter -- even when they are not his allies.

  Vote for change
Letter to the Editor of the Free Press; Thursday, November 2, 2006.

Weston – We're ready for a change. We're tired of incompetence and unrelenting arrogance. We hunger for a change.

  Parker offers ideas
Letter to the Editor of the Free Press; Thursday, November 2, 2006.

Colchester – The more I listen to the candidates in the gubernatorial debate, the more obvious the contrasts become.

  Douglas no moderate
Letter to the Editor of the Free Press; Thursday, November 2, 2006.

Waterbury – Gov. Jim Douglas likes to portray himself as a moderate Vermont Republican in the great tradition of Senators George Aiken and Jim Jeffords, but his recent actions on the Vermont Wilderness Bill show that his true allegiances lie with a different variety of Republican.

  Douglas also a career politican
Letter to the Editor of the Times Argus; Thursday, November 2, 2006.

Montpelier – Mr. Barnett's Republican Party offers only partisan rhetoric. Fortunately, Vermont has candidates who offer hope, integrity and commitment.

  Strong ticket for Democrats
Letter to the Editor of the Rutland Herald; Thursday, November 2, 2006.

Bennington – I urge you to vote for the dynamite Democratic candidates for statewide office: Scudder Parker for governor, Matt Dunne for lieutenant governor, Deb Markowitz for secretary of state, Jeb Spaulding for treasurer, Bill Sorrell for attorney general, and Tom Salmon for state auditor.

  Parker understands school costs
Letter to the Editor of the Free Press; Sunday, October 29, 2006.

Georgia – If you need a reason to vote for Scudder Parker for governor over the incumbent, just look at their differing approaches to the problem of rising property taxes.

Parker addresses causes of high taxes
Letter to the Editor of the Free Press; Sunday, October 29, 2006.

Underhill Center – I see that a central theme in Gov. Jim Douglas's campaign is something called an "affordability agenda." And for the centerpiece of this "agenda" he seems to think that Vermont needs to be more like California 1978.

  Remember Douglas' farmer protection veto
Letter to the Editor of the Free Press; Monday, October 30, 2006.

East Montpelier – Vermonters concerned about the safety and integrity of our food, and about the survival of Vermont's small farms, are asking serious questions about the current governor's race. Growing numbers have concluded that it's time for a change in the governor's office.

  Parker supports children/families
Letter to the Editor of the Free Press; Monday, October 30, 2006.

Weybridge – Voters who support families with young children should be aware that Scudder Parker, candidate for governor, strongly supports 10 hours of publicly funded early education.

  Parker open to change
Letter to the Editor of the Free Press; Sunday, October 29, 2006.

Bakersfield – Gov. Jim Douglas is a total status-quo kind of governor. He has no vision for the future because, to him, all change is bad. He speaks well about health care, affordability, energy, farmers, conservation, etc., but does little or nothing.

Douglas doesn't think of state's future
Letter to the Editor of the Free Press; Sunday, October 29, 2006.

Springfield – For his inability to think about Vermont's future, Douglas is going to go down in history as "Governor could have."

  Parker, Dunne best choices
Letter to the Editor of the Free Press; Tuesday, October 31, 2006.

West Berkshire – Scudder Parker brings a fresh perspective to Vermont's political scene.

  Impressed with Scudder
Letter to the Editor of the Times Argus; Tuesday, October 31, 2006.

West Corinth – Are other folks as impressed as I am with Scudder Parker as a candidate for governor?

Vote for Parker to succeed Douglas
Letter to the Editor of the Times Argus; Saturday, October 28, 2006.

Chelsea – Jim Douglas has had his shot. Four years have not created any real change in these problems, in fact I would argue that most of them are more pressing.

  Parker will speak up
Letter to the Editor of the Times Argus; Thursday, October 26, 2006.

Marshfield – The governor of Vermont simply cannot be "mystified by those people in Washington" especially while raising money for them and dining at the White House. The governor of Vermont has got to have the courage to speak up and to take a stand and to know his position has power.

  Parker qualified to be governor
Letter to the Editor of the Times Argus; Thursday, October 26, 2006.

Montpelier – Jim Douglas is a likable and polished gentleman, but these are dangerous times and it is time for a change in the governor's office!

Wants to give Parker a chance
Letter to the Editor of the Times Argus; Thursday, October 26, 2006.

Calais – Douglas's opposition to the wilderness bill was completely partisan politics and trying to appeal to his Republican base. Ask yourself that same question when you examine the last two terms of Governor "Scissorhands" conservation record.

  Parker is man of vision
Letter to the Editor of the Rutland Herald; Thursday, October 26, 2006.

North Pomfret – I write in support of Scudder Parker for governor.

  Why Douglas has to go
Letter to the Editor of the Rutland Herald; Thursday, October 26, 2006.

New Haven – Here are three reasons why Douglas has to go.

  Many reasons to support Parker
Letter to the Editor of the Free Press; Thursday, October 26, 2006.

Shelburne – Gov. Jim Douglas has said he wants to put a cap on local school taxes. That seems to me to be a busybodyish piece of interference by state government.

  Parker will work collaboratively
Letter to the Editor of the Free Press; Wednesday, October 25, 2006.

Montpelier – I hope voters pay close attention to the procedure used by Gov. Jim Douglas to exert his opinion concerning the Wilderness bill.

No to Republicans, yes to Democrats
Letter to the Editor of the Bennington Banner; Monday, October 23, 2006.

Bennington – Voters: Please send a strong message to the oil and gas price gouging Republican party in power. Vote Democratic down the line on Nov. 7.

  Douglas gives wealthy tax break
Letter to the Editor of the Rutland Herald; Monday, October 23, 2006.

Bridport – Suddenly Jim Douglas is concerned about affordability? I doubt it. I'm voting for Scudder Parker who knows what it is like to live on less.

  Parker will tackle health care
Letter to the Editor of the Free Press; Sunday, October 22, 2006.

Huntington – Scudder Parker is the only candidate who can provide this leadership. We tried Gov. Jim Douglas, he failed. Let's not waste another two years.

  Send them a message
Letter to the Editor of the Bennington Banner; Saturday, October 21, 2006.

Bennington – Vermonters have a chance to send Bush a message of no confidence and vote Democrat this year.

  Vote for change in November
Letter to the Editor of the Rutland Herald; Saturday, October 21, 2006.

Weston – We're ready for a change. We're tired of incompetence and unrelenting arrogance. We hunger for a change.

If you dislike Bush, don't vote for Douglas
Letter to the Editor of the Free Press; Monday, October 23, 2006.

Greensboro – Donald Rumsfeld's recent comments on appeasing unsavory people or philosophies have relevance for Vermonters. Rumsfeld compared current anti-war sentiment with the industrialists and fascists that enabled the rise of Nazi Germany by appeasing Hitler's policies.

  Douglas has shut out public
Letter to the Editor of the Times Argus; Friday, October 20, 2006.

Montpelier – The recent public disclosure of the role of Gov. Douglas, his ANR secretary and the forests and parks commissioner in derailing the Wilderness Act is emblematic of an administration that derides the role of the public.

  Douglas rhetoric is deceptive
Letter to the Editor of the Rutland Herlad; Thursday, October 19, 2006.

Montpelier – As the election nears, Gov. James Douglas' campaign for re-election has resorted to a few of the "D" words — distortion, deceit, and dishonest and disingenuous rhetoric to discredit his Democratic opponent Scudder Parker.

  Parker offers new approach
Letter to the Editor of the Time Argus; Thursday, October 19, 2006.

Montpelier – Jim Douglas is a likeable and polished gentleman, but these are dangerous times and it is time for a change in the governor's office!

  Douglas rhetoric is deceptive
Letter to the Editor of the Rutland Herald; Thursday, October 19, 2006.

Montpelier – As the election nears, Gov. James Douglas' campaign for re-election has resorted to a few of the "D" words - distortion, deceit, and dishonest and disingenuous rhetoric to discredit his Democratic opponent Scudder Parker.

  Under the hoohah
Letter to the Editor of the Vermont Journal; Tuesday, October 17, 2006.

Bakersfield – Underneath all the hoohah of the political campaigns are simple choices that will have an impact on all our lives for years, even generations, to come.

  Parker right on health care
Letter to the Editor of the Saint Albans Messenger; Thursday, October 16, 2006.

Saint Albans – I, for one, found Scudder Parker's arguments in today's Messenger lucid and extremely well considered.

  Parker will protect family farms
Letter to the Editor of the Times Argus; Tuesday, October 17, 2006.

Hyde Park – This is a difficult time in Vermont and American history. Changes in political leadership are needed to restore peace and opportunity. Montpelier needs a positive change of leadership in the Statehouse.

Scudder Parker Offers The Best Future
Letter to the Editor of the Caledonian-Record; Wednesday, October 4, 2006.

Marshfield – Scudder Parker is not like the career politicians who seek to be governor as an achievement, as if they were climbing a mountain. Scudder is a candidate for governor because he has a life-long commitment to making Vermont a better place to live and he understands that as governor he can best prepare the soil for progress in Vermont.

Parker will encourage new job growth
Letter to the Editor of the Free Press; Monday, October 16, 2006.

Charlotte – So, Gov. Jim Douglas has finally shown his true colors. He has now joined Rich Tarrant by launching a sleazy fact-distorting media campaign against his opponent, Scudder Parker. When a politician starts mud-slinging, it's because he or she has nothing positive to offer the electorate.

Side with Parker on wind projects
Letter to the Editor of the Free Press; Monday, October 16, 2006.

Newfane – At the debate the other night in Brattleboro, Gov. Jim Douglas' statements about our energy situation makes it clear to me why Scudder Parker should be our next governor.

Parker is heir to George Aiken
Letter to the Editor of the Free Press; Monday, October 16, 2006.

Adamant – Scudder Parker is the real deal. If you could put the Vermont seal of approval on any person, Scudder Parker would be that person.

  Parker understands wilderness, energy
Letter to the Editor of the Free Press; Friday, October 13, 2006.

Jericho – At the recent gubernatorial debate in Barre, Scudder Parker spoke on alternative energy, clarifying that he does believe the state should continue to have power over towns in Vermont when it comes to issues that benefit the whole state, such as wind power.

  Parker will bring productive change
Letter to the Editor of the Free Press; Friday, October 13, 2006.

Charlotte – It's time for Vermont to move somewhere. Anywhere. We've had four years of Jim Douglas as our governor, and it's like we've been stuck in quicksand. Gov. Douglas governs from a perspective of fear.

  Douglas' wilderness derailment unfair
Letter to the Editor of the Free Press; Friday, October 13, 2006.

Middlesex – In regard to the pending wilderness bill, Gov. Jim Douglas has been recently quoted as saying "I'm optimistic that we can get a bill passed by Congress before the end of the year."

  Parker stands up for Vermonters
Letter to the Editor of the Free Press; Thursday, October 12, 2006.

Barre City – Being governor means accepting responsibility. Running for his third term as governor of Vermont, it's time for Gov. Jim Douglas to accept responsibility for his actions.

  To The Editor
Letter to the Editor of the Champlain Islander; Wednesday, October 11, 2006.

South Hero – I know Jim Douglas is a nice man. He show up at most every event and lots of people like him, but can he lead?

  Parker follows moral compass
Letter to the Editor of the Free Press; Wednesday, October 11, 2006.
